There is no ticket queue and no support email — everything goes through Discord, where a person will actually read it. Below are the things that come up most often, so you can check them first.
Frequently asked
What is Drift City?
Drift City is an open-world online racing MMO originally developed by NPluto. It mixed city driving with story missions, a deep car upgrade system and team-based PvP. The official Western service closed in 2016.
What is Drift City World?
Drift City World is a community-run Drift City private server. It restores the original game — the city, the missions, the cars and the PvP modes — on a server rebuilt from the ground up.
How is this different from Drift City Remastered or Drift City Origin?
Drift City Remastered and Drift City Origin are other community projects keeping the game alive. Drift City World runs its own server implementation and its own world, so progress does not carry between them. We are on good terms with the wider community — there is room for more than one place to drive.
How do I get an account?
Sign in with Discord on this site and create your game login. One game account is allowed per Discord account, which is what lets us keep the server fair and handle moderation properly.
Which client do I use?
Drift City World runs on its own client build, linked from the Play page. Older official clients will not connect.
Common problems
"Invalid user/password" when you know the password is right
The login ID is case-sensitive — type it exactly as you created it on this site. If you created the account here and have never logged in, check the ID on your account page rather than retyping it from memory.
"The server is only open to accepted testers currently."
The server is in closed beta and your account is not on the tester list yet. Your account and login are fine — ask in Discord to be added, and the same login will work.
The client will not connect at all
Check the status pill at the top of this page first. If the server is up, the usual cause is a firewall or antivirus holding the client back — allow it through and try again.
An older official client does not work
It never will. Drift City World runs its own client build, linked from the Play page; the original clients point at servers that no longer exist.
You forgot your game password
Ask in Discord. Because your game login is tied to your Discord account, we can verify it is really you and reset it.
Server rules
Short, and meant plainly. The point of all of them is the same: the game should be worth playing for everyone in it.
One game account per person
One game account per Discord account, enforced when you create it. Alt accounts made to get round a ban, farm, or dodge trade limits are removed.
No cheating
Speed hacks, packet manipulation, macros and third-party clients all ruin the game for the people playing it honestly. Bans here are permanent.
No exploiting
If something is clearly not working as intended, report it. Using a bug to gain an advantage — especially quietly, at scale — is treated the same as cheating. Reporting one has never cost anybody anything.
No harassment
Racism, targeted abuse and sexual harassment get you removed from the server and the Discord, first time, no discussion.
No real-money trading
Nothing in this game is for sale, by us or by you. Selling accounts, items or currency for real money is a ban.
Do not impersonate staff
Staff never ask for your password. Anyone who does is not staff — report them.
Bans are decided by people, not scripts, and we would rather talk to you than remove you. If you think a decision was wrong, say so in Discord.
Privacy
Drift City World is a hobby project, and the honest summary is that we hold as little about you as we can get away with.
What signing in with Discord gives us
Only the identify scope: your Discord user ID, your username and your avatar. We cannot read your messages, see your DMs, or post as you. Your Discord ID is stored against your game account — that link is the entire reason we ask, because it is what makes one-account-per-person and any later moderation possible.
What the game account stores
Your chosen login ID, password, the date you created it. Game progress — characters, cars, items — is stored the same way any MMO stores it.
Cookies and analytics
Two things, and you control the second. The first is a sign-in cookie, set only when you actually sign in with Discord and used for nothing else. The second is Google Analytics, which tells us which pages people use — it is optional, nothing loads unless you accept the banner, and declining costs you nothing.
What we do not do
No advertising, no third-party trackers beyond the analytics above, and nothing sold or shared with anyone.
Deleting your account
Ask in Discord and we will delete the account and its characters. There is no waiting period and we will not try to talk you out of it.
